First, I would like to talk about why most of us, the developer community, use external CSS stylesheets in favor of the inline tag. The main reason is that, for smaller sites, we only need one CSS file in which we can take care of the design for all our pages. That means it is easier to maintain because it is separate and a change on all the pages can be as simple as one line. Furthermore, keeping your HTML file free of CSS and JavaScript does improve the visibility of the code. It can be jarring to switch mindsets every 20-30 lines.
